Quick Tips

The baseball stitch, as some call it will be a great go-to for deep tissue closure or if you have a good reason, skin can be closed this way if it is not under uneven tension.

Benefits: Fast closure. One knot on each end and the rest is just all forehand.

Drawbacks: Risk of dehiscence is higher since there are only two knots and plenty in-between. The risk here is that if one area gets under more tension from edema or body movement, the other parts may get under constrictive or strangulating tension and compromise the tissue.

Gold Nugget: There are two versions of this stitch, and they are entirely up to you to decide which you prefer. Version #1 you will create angled stitches (travel on top of the skin) or version #2 you will have straight stitches (travel under the skin). Travel refers to moving down the length of the incision.
